Bonjour. Comment ca va? J'espere que vous allez bien. On est impatient d'etre dans le Sud de la France parce qu'il fait froid le matin et le soir.

How are you? I hope you are all well. We can not wait to get to the south of France, because it is cold in the morning and evenings.

Well, that's my little bit of French... okay, so I had a translator. But don't tell anyone. Friday evening we went to go stay with lovely French friends in Saint Jean de la Motte and we are enjoying the warm fireplace so much we are only leaving Monday morning. It is nice and sunny here, but that doesn't make it any warmer. Dad says it's about 3°C at night and 8°C during the day with lovely sunshine. Because of it being so chilly, we are aiming for the south of France and Spain and missing Paris for now. BUT WE WILL BE BACK!!! Most probably on our way back up.

Tuesday we reached our destination at Fort Mahon Plage at 12h00. Probably the earliest we had stopped yet. There wasn't much of a view at our camp spot, but about 5 minutes walk away was a lovely beach. We walked around town for a bit and Emile and Geneve spend most of the afternoon building a sand sculpture on the beach. It was lovely, but after about an hour the sun suddenly disappeared and the wind picked up, making us go back to the camper pretty quick.

Wednesday we stopped for lunch next to a harbour at St. Valery-en-Caux. There were a lot of small boats and the water was lovely (not to swim.... brrrrr! Just to look at). We stayed one last night on the coast at St. Jouin-Bruneval. There was a big parking area. It was quite deserted with a magnificant view.

Thursday late afternoon we arrived at Averton. The Aire was just above a lovely lake. We went for a walk around it. There were ducks on the lake and the trees around it with the autumn colours were beautiful. I (Chane) would have braved the cold for a walk around it Friday morning before we left, but sadly it started to rain during the night and carried on all through the day.

So, Friday morning we set off to find our friends, but got hopelessly lost and ended up on a stranger's doorstep. Fortunately a friendly French chap tried to show us the way.

He couldn't speak English and it was quite funny to see dad trying to communicate. We were double fortunate that the town we ended up in was not too far away from where we had to be. Just a few kilometers out.

We have had a few French lessons to help us on our way through France, lovely French food and wonderful conversations. After a delicious Sunday lunch which Nadine cooked for us, we went for a walk around the lovely French countryside.

Hopefully we are now well equipped for the rest of France!
