14 April 2017, Friday: It’s a very special morning and Dad treats Mom again to breakfast in bed (her favourite of course – fried egg on a slice of German Brot… bread for those of you who might not know). While we were in Genève, we unexpectedly hit a curb and as Dad says that he is carrying precious cargo, he decides it is wise to change the tyre. So at the same time we receive a lesson on how to perform this skill. Before leaving we have communion. Along the road we pass an interesting rustic house full of American collections. We have to stop to take a picture. We go around the top of Wothersee, stop for lunch and come back around the bottom heading towards Gallizien. We stop for the night at the car park of Wildensteiner Wasserfall. We go for a 20 minute hike up to the waterfall. This waterfall drops from a height of 54 metres and is really something to behold. We hike back down and arrive back at the camper just in time as the raindrops start to fall.

15 April 2017, Saturday: After a lovely wet night, we wake up to a beautiful glistening morning. We are spoiled with a clean bathroom nearby and Dad fills up the water tank. We cross the border between Austria and Slovenia at 11am and stop for photos and to make some fresh coffee. After a lunch stop in Hotovlje we continue to a park4night stop at the Divača caves. Three more campers with young people join us at our stop. Later on we walk to the entrance of the caves and are very disappointed to discover that these caves are closed up till May.

16 April 2017, Sunday: After a very noisy night with trains going to and fro (Mum’s version), Dad, Genève, Emile and I go and explore a nearby cave which Emile discovered. We spend an hour in the caves armed with ropes, sticks, 3 headlamps and a gopro. Due to a lack of equipment and time designated to us by our mother, we dare not venture too far into the caves. We return muddy and well pleased with ourselves. Around 11 o’clock we drive 2 km to the nearby Skocjan caves. We opt for a guided tour as it takes us through the underground canyon of this world renowned caves. We complete the tour in 2 and a half hours. This was a rather pricey excursion, but we all agree it is worth every cent. It is truly spectacular and a pity that we weren’t allowed to take any photos. After having lunch in the car park, we return to the parking at Divača and clean ourselves up with a lovely shower. We continue to a camper stop place at a nearby town 12 km away at Hrpelje-Kozina with hopefully no trains keeping Mum awake at night.

P.S. For those of you who are curious and would like the know... dumping can be classified in 2 categories: greywater dumping (which is dishes and shower water) and the other one with which you will have to use your imagination. Emile helps Dad with the former (like lining up the camper and opening/closing the outlet) while Dad has full responsibility for the latter.
