24 April 2017, Monday: Before leaving our ‘best view in town’ stop-over we update the blog. We leave Srebreno and head for the border of Montenegro. Here we need to buy vehicle insurance (the so-called green card). Dad decides to use some of our excess Kuna’s (Croatian currency) to pay for this insurance and brightens up the day for a very bored official by over-paying her due to lack of change (or that’s what they imply?!). This goes very smoothly and ten minutes later we are on our way again. Lunchtime we stop in between Risan and Perast next to a huge bay. We could have taken a ferry, but decided to take the journey around the bay as we see a lot more this way. We continue to Budva where we stay for the night. The rest of the day is spent on the beach. 25 April 2017, Tuesday: As this is another ‘old city’ coastal attraction, we take a 20 minute stroll to Budva and explore this tiny old town centre enclosed by a city wall. Around midday we depart and take a short 10 km trek to our next destination which, due to a very steep decline and obviously incline as you leave, will put most people off. But at the bottom you have lovely terraced shaded parking with a crystal clear stream gushing down close by. Emile has his first opportunity to open the awning and ‘camping furniture’, and we are able to use it for what it was designed for. We enjoy the tranquillity and sun. 26 April 2017, Wednesday: As we start our ascent, Merzy’s butt gives the ground a little peck to say goodbye. At the top, Dad replaces a park-light before we continue. We arrive at Ulcinj at lunch time and park on the other side of the bay, looking out over the old city. After lunch we walk down around the bay to explore the city. On our return back to the camper Dad and Emile go for a swim, trying to body surf.
